Murrurundi is 309 kms from Sydney on the New England Hwy at the Crown of the Hunter and is between Scone (40kms South) and Tamworth (90kms North) it has population of 981.

 

Murrurundi is a National Trust classified town on the the slopes of the Liverpool Ranges and nestled in the surrounding hills on the banks of the Pages River, having natural beauty rich farming land and clean air.

 

It is a friendly community, having a Bowling Club, Swimming Pool, Golf Course with sand greens and Tennis Courts.

 

The Climate in Spring and Autumn is pleasent sunny days with cool nights, Winter is brisk, invigorating with frosty mornings, Summer has hot days with pleasant evenings.

 

Each May the King of the Mountains is held, a test of man or woman and their horse skills over three days, Sheepdog trials are held in April.

 

A selection of Arts and Crafts shops are scattered through the town as are eateries and the Bowling Club has a Chinese Restaurant, at weekends several other cafe's operate around the town.

 

A Countrylink train service serves Newcastle, Sydney, Tamworth, Armidale and Moree daily.
